How we’ll use your information
We’re collecting your personal information so we can run this research project. Here’s what that means in practice.
What this privacy notice covers
This privacy notice covers your data collected in connection with our probate research. Data we hold about your conveyancing transactions and website usage is subject to separate regulatory retention requirements, specified in our general privacy notice.
Who’s responsible for your data?
Juno Property Lawyers Limited is the data controller. If you have questions about your data, email charlie.jacobs@juno.legal.
What we’ll collect
Your name, email address, and the answers you give in this form. If we speak to you, we’ll also collect notes from the call. We’ll only record or transcribe calls with your permission, and we’ll ask before we start.
Why we’re allowed to process it
We’re processing your data under legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Our interest is improving our products and services by understanding people’s experiences. We don’t think this conflicts with your rights, but you can object at any time.
Who can see it
Your answers will be seen by the research, product and leadership teams across the Juno group of companies, which includes Juno Global Services Limited and Juno Legal Holdings Limited. We won’t share your personal information outside of Juno or our data processors. If we use quotes or examples from our conversations in reports, we’ll anonymise them so you can’t be identified.
Tools we use to process your data
We use a small number of third-party tools to help us manage and make sense of the information we collect during research. These tools act as data processors on our behalf, which means they only process your data according to our instructions and are bound by contract to keep it secure and confidential. These tools may include survey platforms, transcription services, video call software, and data analysis tools. We carry out checks on the tools we use to make sure they handle personal data appropriately. Some of these tools are provided by companies based outside the UK. Where that’s the case, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the Information Commissioner’s Office, before any data is transferred. If you’d like to know which specific tools we’re using for this project, email charlie.jacobs@juno.legal and we’ll let you know.
How long we’ll keep it
We’ll keep your data for up to 2 years after the research finishes, then delete it. If you asked us not to contact you, we’ll keep just your email on a suppression list so we don’t accidentally get in touch again.
Your rights
You can:
- Ask to see what data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it
- Ask us to delete it
- Object to us processing it
- Withdraw from the research at any time, no questions asked
To do any of these, email charlie.jacobs@juno.legal. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Taking part is voluntary. You can stop at any time, during the form or during a call. You don’t need to give a reason. If you withdraw, we’ll delete your data unless you tell us otherwise.
